Cortijo Búho (Benamaurel)

An excellent experience. Matilda is a great host (arming us with coffees upon arrival) and very knowledgable about the animals in her care. We wanted to steal all the animals, especially Bob the dog! Thank you for a great couple of hours.

Such an amazing place and experience. Matilda (the owner) is so knowledgeable of all the birds and animals. Being able to handle/stroke some of the owls was the biggest surprise and highlight. Thoroughly recommend. Thanks Matilda for providing a safe and caring haven.

A real treat for nature lovers. Beautiful birds of prey, some of which you can hold and touch, some you can see fly and others you can just marvel at. Visits are by reservation only and a donation is welcomed. Informative and interesting, well worth the drive out.

I have visited Cortijo Buho several times and I highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in Birds of Prey and wildlife in general. The food here is fantastic too, all home made using mostly local produce and as they only cater for small groups it makes for a great place for Birthdays etc.

An excellent day out with the owls and animals, see the owls fly, have them sit on your head and perch on your hand. Lawrence and Matilda keep you informed and entertained for every minute of the day along with a very good lunch. More of an experience than a visit, if you love birds and animals then you must go. Highly recommended.

Wonderful day with Matilda and Lawrence showing us and educating us with their knowledge and skills with owls, Harris hawk and meerkats. After gloves on flying the birds we were presented with a superb spicy meal with home made wine. Lovely spiritual people an honour to meet them. Will be going back for sure.

There aren't enough superlatives available to express what a truly special day I had at Cortijo Búho. Very highly recommended for an amazing day with special people and their extra special furry, feathered family.

Love condition birds are kept in very tasty morsels on offer will go for a meal when i am recovered also lovely things to buy. Made very welcome.
